Ukrainian drones hit apartment blocks in Russia (VIDEO)

UAV attacks were reported in several cities overnight Friday into Saturday

Ukrainian drones have struck two apartment buildings in the Russian city of Kotovsk, 430km (267 miles) to the southeast of Moscow, a regional governor has said.

A video from the scene shows that a drone had apparently flown straight into the window of a five-story building.

“Several people have been injured by broken glass,” Tambov Region Governor Evgeny Pervyshov wrote on Telegram on Saturday. He added a shelter has been prepared for the residents of the damaged apartments.

Telegram news channel Mash reported that at least five people were injured in Kotovsk.

Witnesses said they heard several loud explosions, including additional blasts after a drone had hit the building.

More than 15 drones were intercepted over southwestern Voronezh Region, Governor Aleksandr Gusev said.

Another drone attack was reported in Anapa, a tourist town on the Black Sea coast across from Crimea. Explosive UAVs also targeted western Belgorod Region, damaging three houses in the village of Maysky, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

The Defense Ministry later released a statement saying that 85 drones were intercepted in Russia overnight.
