Authorities searching for thief who stole Minnesota city’s welcome sign
Authorities in Wabasha County are asking for the public’s help in solving the theft of a city welcome sign.
The sheriff’s office said the large “Welcome to Millville” sign was taken earlier this week. Photos shared by the sheriff’s office show that two wooden posts supporting the sign were cut off, and the sign removed.
Organizers of the Millville Valley River Days event said it was one of two new welcome signs they purchased for the community a few years ago.
Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office at 651-565-3361 or 866-377-6111.
Millville is a city of about 150 people. It’s located along the Zumbro River about 15 miles northeast of Rochester.
