Biden To Award Hillary Clinton, George Soros With Presidential Medal Of Freedom
President Joe Biden announced Saturday that he’ll award failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and billionaire Democrat megadonor George Soros, among others, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which is the nation’s highest civilian honor.
The decision to award the medal to such partisan figures falls in line with Biden’s recent announcement to award J6 Select Committee leaders Liz Cheney, a former congresswoman, and Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) with Presidential Citizens Medals.
In a press release, the White House cited Clinton’s “decades in public service” and her historic win as the first female presidential nominee for any major U.S. political party — which was not without controversy.
Notably, Clinton took a loss to incoming President-elect Donald Trump during the 2016 election, and bitterly protested the loss for years, blaming Russia, the FBI, and other factors.
Additionally, the former secretary of state has recently called for more big tech censorship, lest “we lose total control,” seemingly referring to the government.
As for Soros, Biden cited the controversial figure’s philanthropy. “George Soros is an investor, philanthropist, and founder of the Open Society Foundations,” the White House release said. “Through his network of foundations, partners and projects in more than 120 countries, Soros has focused on global initiatives that strengthen democracy, human rights, education, and social justice.”
Recently, Republican governors, such as Florida’s Ron DeSantis, have vowed to take on the “work” of Soros, specifically the billionaire’s funding of far-Left progressive district attorneys who often execute soft-on-crime policies and target law enforcement.
Moreover, earlier this week, Biden announced that Cheney and Thompson would be two of 20 people to be awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal, which is given U.S. citizens who’ve performed “exemplary deeds of service for their country or their fellow citizens.”
The partisan J6 committee, headed by Cheney and Thompson, targeted political opponents for their supposed role in the J6 Capitol breach. The committee and its suspect antics came under fire from the start, since it included only two Republicans, who happened to be fiercely anti-Trump.
A report from The Federalist said the committee was “illegally established” and was effectively a “two-year operation to frame political opponents as criminal insurrectionists and then covered up members’ own misconduct.”
