Photos: Twin Cities see their coldest morning since Valentine’s Day 2021
Tuesday was the coldest morning of this winter in the Twin Cities and much of Minnesota.
Temperatures dipped to -19 degrees at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, making it the coldest morning there in almost four years. The last time the airport saw -19 degrees was on Valentine’s Day 2021.
Meanwhile, parts of northern Minnesota saw even colder temperatures as well as wind chills as cold as -47 degrees.
Overall, most of central and southern Minnesota saw its coldest morning of the winter, although Monday morning was colder in several places in northern Minnesota.
The region had been blanketed by cold weather advisories and extreme cold warnings since Saturday evening. The warnings finally expired at 10 a.m. Tuesday for many and at noon in northern Minnesota.
