Trump To Declare Immigration National Emergency, Deploy Troops To Border
President Donald Trump will declare a national emergency at the southern border and take a wide range of immigration-related executive actions, incoming White House officials told The Daily Wire.
Trump is expected to sign 10 immigration-related executive orders shortly after returning to the White House to deploy the military to the border, suspend refugee resettlement, and end birthright citizenship.
Incoming White House officials say that Trump will declare a national emergency at the border, allowing him to deploy the military to the border and immediately begin constructing physical barriers. The order will direct the Secretary of Defense to deploy both members of the armed forces and the National Guard.
The officials also say that Trump will reinstate the Remain in Mexico policy, suspend the asylum process, and designate the cartels as terrorist organizations with a specific focus on the removal of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.
Trump will also end the Biden administration’s catch-and-release policy, resume construction of the border wall, and reinstate the death penalty for illegal aliens who kill law enforcement or are convicted of a capital crime. Trump will also enhance immigrant screening operations.
The incoming White House officials also added that Trump intends to fulfill his pledge to the American people to carry out the largest mass deportation operation in American history and begin with illegal aliens with criminal records. Recent polling has found that nearly 9 in 10 Americans support deporting illegal aliens with criminal records.
The House of Representatives will also focus on immigration in the first days of the Trump administration. The House Judiciary Committee’s first hearing in 2025 will be titled “Restoring Immigration Enforcement in America” and will discuss “what the Trump administration can do to restore integrity to America’s immigration system,” The Daily Wire exclusively reported.
